As mentioned previously, establishing intent to make Texas your primary residence is a crucial aspect of the residency process. Registering to vote in the state (you did this at the DMV) is a key step in demonstrating your commitment to becoming a Texas resident and will strengthen your position in the process.
Please Note: If you have not received your registration card within 30 days of your DMV appointment, you may follow the steps below to reapply

Step-by-Step Guide
Navigate to the voter registration page
Click "Start a voter registration application here"

Select "Yes" for "Are you a United States Citizen"

Select "Yes" for "Will you be 18 years of age on or before election day?"

Select "New" for "Application Type"

Select "No" for "Are you interested in serving as an election worker"

Type your first name

Type your middle name if applicable

Type your last name

Enter your date of birth

Enter the last 4 digits of your SSN

Select your county

Type your address with apartment number

Type your city

Type your zip code

Type your mailing address info if mail cannot be delivered to your residence address

Click "Continue"

Verify your information is correct
Click "Print Application"

Print the application
Sign the form to certify that all information is accurate
Enter today's date
Mail the completed application directly to your country's election office
